Locally Grown
Group Exhibition/ Zachary Bonime & Lee Dawson
“Locally Grown” is an exhibition showcasing the combined vision of Lee Dawson and Zachary Bonime, as partners and collaborators.
Dawson and Bonime both formally studied fine art at the School of Visual Arts. Following nearly a decade of experience using oil & acrylic paint as their main medium, they have independently developed unique styles post-graduation.
Incorporating a formal education into their current bodies of work allows them the ability to further develop an expression of recurring themes. This leads to a continuous evaluation of maternal connectivity, sentiment felt through physical objects, and the relation to traditional flash tattoo culture-- all themes influenced both by the location of their respective upbringings, and their current joint-residency in Manhattan.
These pieces are products of their environment and the immediate community in which they inhabit.
